What is ADULT COUNSELING
Over twenty-five percent of Americans experience mental health issues every year. Our highly experienced psychologists and therapists work with adults of all ages, gender, belief systems, and backgrounds. We value working with the whole person and the issues they bring for exploration. As a practice, we center our therapy on empathy and work closely with each client. We believe in conducting thorough face to face assessments with each person and working together with people, as a team, to determine the best course of treatment. Our approach to adult counseling is to help each person use their existing strengths, in addition to learning new skills, to grow and create their own meaning in their life. We offer a wide range of mental health services and can help identify a treatment plan that is right for you.
As we age, some things in life become more challenging. In fact, approximately 15% of adults aged 60 and over live with a mental health disorder. Central Iowa Psychological Services is here with comprehensive and compassionate care to help older adults live healthy, independent, and meaningful lives. Our older adult services address aging-related issues such as support to maintain a home, transportation, health, mobility, grief, isolation, emotional concerns, and more.
The staff at Central Iowa Psychological Services provides a wide variety of services to older adults residing in nursing homes, residential care facilities, and assisted living. These services and psychological assessments can be conducted at the facility or in the office.
We work with a variety of issues specific to older adults. Therapists specializing in services for older adults can meet you, your family, and your treatment team as well as anyone assisting with treatment decisions.
