Adolescents, young adults, and adults. My professional practice includes individual and couples therapy. My approach is first centered on getting to know you and collaborating together to figure out what you would like to accomplish in our time together. I operate mainly from interpersonal processing theory and cognitive behavioral techniques, but believe in an integrative and flexible approach to therapy. Depending on your goals, we may follow a longer therapy structure, exploring how your past family relationships influence you today, or we may choose a short-term skills focused approach to address a specific issue.
Areas of specialty and interest include relationship problems, posttraumatic stress, grief work, depression and anxiety, male and female survivors of sexual trauma, and substance abuse and dependence. I have experience working extensively with the veteran population and am interested in continuing to provide therapy and support to veterans and military families in the community.
In addition to therapy, I also provide psychological assessment and diagnostic testing, as well as pre-surgical assessments for bariatric surgery or organ transplants. I utilize assessment to identify the presence of ADHD, developmental disorders, learning and memory difficulties, and clarifying mental health diagnoses and personality factors. I focus my assessments on pinpointing tailored recommendations and suggestions to help the individual reach his or her full potential. I dedicate a good portion of my professional practice to conducting such evaluations for young children, teens, and adults.
