Psychological Testing

Psychological evaluations typically consist of a series of tests that help determine the correct diagnosis for mental health symptoms and disorders. The results of the evaluation allow you and your mental health provider and/ or medication management provider to determine the appropriate course of treatment. 


During testing, a licensed psychologist typically uses a variety of tests and behavior rating scales as part of the evaluation, in addition to an interview.

The evaluation process includes comprehensive feedback and a report with findings and recommendations.


A physician or therapist may refer you for psychological evaluation if you have concerns about (not exhaustive):

  • Changes in mood
  • Nervousness
  • Social withdrawal
  • Changes in sleep or eating habits
  • Poor concentration
  • Difficulty performing usual tasks
  • Lack of interests in activities that once gave you pleasure
  • Poor recovery following exposure to potentially traumatic event
